Blood Libel #16 | “Zionism is incompatible with universal human rights.”
Anti-Zionist:
Zionism is exclusionary. It’s incompatible with universal human rights.
Pro-Zionist:
Really? Then is Palestinian nationalism incompatible with universal human rights? What about Kurdish or Tibetannationalism?
(Let them try to explain why only Jewish nationalism is illegitimate.)
Pro-Zionist:
Zionism is simply the belief that Jews, like every other people, have the right to self-determination in their ancestral homeland.
In fact:
Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East that protects LGBTQ rights, religious freedom, and women’s rights.
Arab citizens of Israel have full legal rights — including the right to criticize the state.
The Israeli Declaration of Independence explicitly guarantees equality for all.
Zionism isn’t incompatible with human rights — it’s a direct response to their denial, especially in centuries of Jewish exile.
So the real question is:
Why is Jewish self-determination the only one people keep trying to revoke — and then call that justice?
