Blood Libel #27 | “The Israeli flag offends Arab citizens — it’s exclusionary.”
Anti-Zionist:
The Israeli flag only represents Jews. It excludes its Arab citizens.
Pro-Zionist:
So the cross on Switzerland’s flag excludes Muslims? Or the crescent moon on Pakistan’s flag excludes Christians?
(They’ll likely insist that Jewish symbols equal Jewish supremacy.)
Pro-Zionist:
The Star of David is not a symbol of oppression — it’s the Jewish people’s ancient emblem, long before there was a state.
Israel’s Declaration of Independence guarantees equal rights for all citizens — Arab, Jewish, Druze, Christian, and others.
Symbols don’t erase citizenship. Laws, policies, and protections do — and Israel has Arab Supreme Court justices, elected lawmakers, and civil rights protections.
If the symbol bothers you more than the freedoms it represents, maybe you’re not looking for equality — you’re rejecting the Jewish identity of the state.
And that’s not coexistence. That’s erasure.
