Blood Libel #19 | “Antisemitism is fueled by the suppression of criticism of Israel.”
(as told by Joe Rogan)
Anti-Zionist:
Antisemitism is getting worse because people aren’t allowed to criticize Israel. That’s why people are angry.
Pro-Zionist:
What suppression are you talking about, exactly?
(Let them try to name examples — they’ll often mention being “called antisemitic” as suppression.)
Pro-Zionist:
So just to clarify: you think being criticized for what you said is the same as being silenced?
Let’s look at reality:
Criticism of Israel is everywhere — in the New York Times, on college campuses, in mass protests, and on every social media platform.
There are student groups literally calling for intifada — that’s not just criticism, it’s advocacy of violence — and they’re protected under free speech laws.
The only people who get “suppressed” are Jews targeted with threats, or students too afraid to wear a Star of David on campus.
And here’s the kicker:
Being called antisemitic for using antisemitic tropes isn’t suppression. It’s accountability.
If your “criticism” includes denying Israel’s right to exist, comparing Jews to Nazis, or demanding a double standard — then yes, people will call that antisemitic. And they should.
So let me flip the question:
If antisemitism is caused by people being “too protective of Jews” — what does that say about the people doing the hating?
Anti-Zionist:
The Jewish lobby controls everything and silences anyone who speaks out.
Pro-Zionist:
So let me get this straight — Jews are 2% of the U.S. population, yet you believe they control Congress, the media, Hollywood, and social media platforms?
(Pause.)
Pro-Zionist:
This isn’t a criticism of policy — it’s a modern version of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
It’s an old antisemitic lie: Jews secretly run the world.
In reality:
Jews face record levels of antisemitic attacks, including physical assaults.
Pro-Palestinian protests dominate university campuses and social media.
Jewish students are told to hide their identity — not because of Israeli policies, but because of the rising tide of hate dressed as activism.
No one is silencing criticism. But if your “criticism” is a conspiracy theory blaming Jews for everything, don’t be surprised when people call it what it is: antisemitism.
This is once again a conflation of causation and correlation. Antisemitism is rising because people are being radicalized by lies and conspiracy theories, not because criticism is being “silenced.” Criticism of Israel is everywhere. The hatred comes from a deeper place — the refusal to see Jews as a people with the right to defend themselves.
